That is socialism... The entire Soviet system of healthcare was based on the same concept... You work, and instead of getting money in your pocket to do as you please with it, part of it went into a pot that paid for your medical needs should they arise..

Medicare is forced insurance. If you do not pay in then you are not eligible. They are forced premiums if you work.
That is why I also say that universal insurance is not Medicare for all.

What the left describes is Medicaid for all aka welfare. Medicare just sounds better especially since not many doctors will take Medicaid patients.
