No idea but before antibiotics sex had a danger to it hetro or homo. In fact the "sexual revolution" was based far more on available BCP and STD treatments. The technology spawned to social change not the other way around.

The modes of transmission are different, yet the outcomes are the same: Thousands of people end up contracting deadly diseases and dying. So if COVID-based restrictions are REALLY about preventing the spread of a deadly diseases, as liberals claim, then there is no principled objection to extending similar restrictions to other disease-spreading activities. I mean, it's not like anal sex between gay men is "essential" or anything. And requiring them to wear condoms is hardly an unreasonable request. As long as it saves one life, then it's worth it, right?

No. But I am wondering why these disease-spreading acts are unregulated, despite the fact that they lead directly and indirectly to thousands of deaths, including women and children who never engaged in such acts. Surely, if I can be indefinitely locked down and muzzled because of the tiny chance I might transmit a virus to someone else, then there should be no reason why society cannot impose similar and proportionate restrictions on homosexual acts between men.
