I would think so or at least close. I suspect analysts tend to overestimate their objects of study while oligarchs overestimate their military's capabilities.

It takes mobilization and threats of nuclear war to avoid defeat in detail.

Or maybe they aren't quite as confident as you imagine.

Ukraine is not able to develop a defeat in detail.

    Meanwhile, Russia holds the ground.

    Thanks in advance.
The largest embarrassment and setback was the Russian attempted attack on Kiev. To say they disabled miles an miles vehicles on purpose won't help you case much and their was certainly a strong effort to go after the capital despite their damaged units.

You can't pretend it did not happen and it was not a "pump fake" military ploy. It was an abandoned strategy because they were broken and then beaten.

And Russia is being pushed back. The momentum is clearly with Ukraine.

I made no such argument. I do believe now that the attack was a strategic demonstration to keep forces in and near Kyiv that could have been used to defend in the south. But that is hind sight.

The people close to Putin are most likely yes men.

And NATO war games may also have made the war game where the Russians took the Baltics in 18 hours in order to squeeze out more funding from its member states.
