Do you know about the controversy surrounding the painting?

No I do not, it’s an iconic painting of American culture, it’s an interesting piece painted in 1948, painted very well.
it was also shown in the Tom Cruise film “Oblivion”

Yeah, there's a controversy on it: Cynthia was apparently crippled (if you look closely at her arms and legs you see it) and many thought it inappropriate to paint her. He and her family were pretty much neighbors and he got the idea watching her drag herself across a field.

He that the painting pays homage to her strength and her struggle in life. The farm is her family home.

Yeah the farmhouse and the subject were painted separately then added together.

Its a big painting of worth.
