Moderate Democrats call for censure instead of impeachment.....

‘Might be a little more bipartisan’: Moderate Democrats call for censure instead of impeachment.....

A few moderate Democrats suggested that the House consider censuring President Trump instead of following through with articles of impeachment.

Around 10 Democrats who have contentious reelection bids have started to pursue alternative ways to punish Trump for his July phone call with Ukraine without pushing the politically divisive impeachment forward, according to Politico. A censure is a public rebuke that passes the House with a simple majority but does not lead to the potential removal of the president from office.

Schrader was joined in his consideration of censuring Trump by New Jersey Rep. Josh Gottheimer, New York Rep. Anthony Brindisi, and Utah Rep. Ben McAdams, and other unnamed Democratic members. One unnamed lawmaker said, “Right now, there's no other options. This is another option.”.....snip~

Ahahahahahahah…..2 Demos that wont impeach and now 10 more say to censure. Just need 8 more and the Demos are burnt toast.

They probably already knew this before they even started. However, there is safety in numbers. I would love to see more push back.

I have news for them. They will pay at the ballet box. Dems continue to promote the narrative that the polls are with them. The people are not. If they were this wouldn't be being ran the way it has and is being run. It has been very carefully and calculated to try and control the narrative because its weak. Go ahead boys and girls see what happens.

Virginia Democrat Faces Constituents' Wrath Over Her Support for the Impeachment Inquiry.....

Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) got an earful from some of her constituents during a town hall on Sunday as she discussed why she supported the impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

Spanberger represents Virginia's 7th congressional district and won against Republican Dave Brat during the 2018 midterms. CNN reported Spanberger was highlighting votes where she voted with House Republicans when some in the audience wanted her to talk about the impeachment inquiry.

"My opinion of our inquiry is mine and mine alone. No one has pressured me to vote in any particular way from within the party. And I will not be pressured to vote in any particular way," she said. "The allegations against the president are incredibly, incredibly serious."

    "Incredible bullsh*t," one man said.

    "It's crap!" another said. "It's a lie. It's all a lie.".....snip~

It’s not necessarily “moderate Democrats”. It’s Democrats who are from states or districts which don’t like the hyper partisan way this is being handled.

Yeah the term moderate just doesn't work out like people think. Hell they even consider Pete Bootyjudge a moderate. Where he isn't even close to being a moderate.

    Agree.

Nothing is left to chance on the House floor. And Nancy Pelosi is a savvy Majority Leader.

It's the job of the House Whip to keep track of where the majority party is with vote counts. And nothing is going to get submitted for vote unless Pelosi knows with some certainly what the outcome will be. Some party members in "swing districts" can be allowed to take contrary positions if there is a need for them to do so for self preservation.

This whole cluster flock we call "Congress" is a lot more fun to watch when one accepts that it is all just a big game. Integrity and backbones are relatively rare components in our elected officials. It's all about re-election and holding on to power.
