Regular Exercise May Help Protect Against Severe Covid

Regular exercise makes you stronger and makes your immune system stronger (assuming that you don't over do it).

More exercise means less risk of developing severe Covid, according to a compelling new study of physical activity and coronavirus hospitalizations. The study, which involved almost 50,000 Californians who developed Covid, found that those who had been the most active before falling ill were the least likely to be hospitalized or die as a result of their illness.

The data were gathered before Covid vaccines became available and do not suggest that exercise can substitute in any way for immunization. But they do intimate that regular exercise — whether it’s going for a swim, walk, run or bike ride — can substantially lower our chances of becoming seriously ill if we do become infected.

Scientists have known for some time that aerobically fit people are less likely to catch colds and other viral infections and recover more quickly than people who are out of shape, in part because exercise can amplify immune responses. Better fitness also heightens antibody responses to vaccines against influenza and other illnesses.

I believe there's truth to that. During my mild case of Covid-19 and quarantine back in December, I went on long walks in the neighborhood every night. I'm 62 and I exercise regularly.

192 million vaccinations have been given in the US.

While it’s normal to have a fever, soreness or other side effects from the COVID-19 vaccine, local experts say a connected fatality isn’t an outcome people should worry about.

Despite misinformation shared on social media that sources a federal vaccine safety database, there is no proof of any patients having died as a result of taking a COVID-19 vaccine in the United States.

A tracking system at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention gathers reports of deaths after COVID-19 vaccination, but there is no evidence to suggest the vaccine was the cause.

I was wondering. If your Doctor's office calls and tells you, you are now eligible to get your covid vaccine and, gives a number to call for an appointment and, you don't........do you think they make note of that? Does your name go onto a watch list?

No need to be worried about 'big brother' best advice, be concerned with getting sick. India is an example of negligent stupidity.

Thanks for your concern, I'm sure it was heartfelt. Most of the family has been vaccinated so we are good. Hope you and yours are too. But it has been a learning year, several friends who often get flu or bad colds have noticed the masks have helped this year. Going forward a few are going to wear them more often. I come from a large family and we are healthy, I think we gave each other immunities through the years growing up. Stay safe.

well, I'm not wearing mine unless it is absolutely required. I've stopped shopping in places where I can go get it from some place else that does not require the draconian measure.
Tell us, they have already indicated that the mask thing is not going away. they call this new movement the Forever Mask Resolution.
Look how quick you bowed..................knees will suffer for this.
The powers that be are already touting this, and of course, you'll just go along with it. You may, I shall not.
Not everyone wants to die on their knees begging for more.
I'd rather be standing and looking folks like you dead in the eye.
Now, run along and think about what you want from the DNC/NYT talking points.
One more time. Masks do not work. they save no one and you cannot point to any case where it has saved anyone. As a matter of fact, those stupid idiots that wear masks when driving should be locked up in a mental ward

Those people are the ones getting it. It gets caught in their masks. They breath it in and out all day in their masks. Oops, they got it because someone in Ohio didn't wear their 6 masks............
So go die on your knees.
