Chinese city of Wuhan bans consumption of wild animals......

The Chinese city where the novel coronavirus originated has banned eating and hunting wild animals.

The city of 11 million announced the ban of wild animal consumption Wednesday, CBS News reported. The city also declared all of Wuhan a “wildlife sanctuary,” which bans residents from hunting. An exception was made for hunting allowed by the government for “scientific research, population regulation, monitoring of epidemic diseases, and other special circumstances.”

Additionally, the city said that breeders couldn’t raise wild animals for food. The changes come as China faces scrutiny about how the coronavirus first originated. Officials are still investigating the origins of the virus, but it is believed that the illness either originated or was spread through a so-called “wet market” in Wuhan.

The World Health Organization has said that markets selling live animals shouldn’t be closed, citing the need for food and jobs for people in developing countries across the world....snip~

Hunting wild animals isn't necessarily the problem. The way they kept the animals after they were caught is. They capture them live and toss them in cages with multiple other species. That is where any viruses start throwing mutation parties.

Note that it only took 6+ months for this novella notion to work its way through chi-com bureaucracy in the lowest level of local government. It's way too little way too late, qualifying it as posturing non-action in context of this pandemic.

Plus it probably pisses everyone off. Again.

I suspect they view it as action to help prevent future novel virus propagation.

I suspect its a big nothing. It was already partially banned, the laws filled with many loop holes. Your talking about a bunch of savages who think eating bats is good for cancer, or, if you eat pea$#@! or any other animal you assimilate its particular attributes. Eating this crap also is a status symbol. Want to impress your Boss? Then dine on bamboo rat with him, or a Pangolin.

It was probably made in a laboratory anyway. An Australian research team just released findings the virus shows properties that indicate it was man made.

The Aussies just released the findings? Is there a link on that?

There was but It was one of those newspapers that makes you pay to see it. But it was a major news outlet. Hold on.....Yeah I can't find it now but it said the molecular structure of the virus could not have happened in nature. Something to do with the proteins or something. I'd have linked it but it was one of those news papers that make you pay. I remember it saying an Australian team found it and recently.

Btw, that research by the Aussies should be a thread to itself.
