Beekeepers with aggressive bees, possibly africanized.

So, africanized bees are apparently in PA and NJ.

An aggressive, possibly africanized behive in NJ:

Another, probably africanized behive somewhere in PA where the bees were killing the livestock:

Wonder why you don't see this stuff on the news? Maybe you do, but I haven't seen it.

I'm really tempted to suggest that bad press like this for anything "african" is just too politically incorrect, even if the livestock are getting killed, but I won't because it's just way too ridiculous -- so ridiculous it's probably true.

Wow! I've never seen bees act like that. Most of the time a smoker puts them into a drowsy mood. Africanized bees resulted from a cross of African and Brazilian bees. I don't think he had a choice but to euthanize the colony. That's too bad, but they were very aggressive, or defensive, rather.

I think I would have done it at night when they were all in the hive rather than early morning.

If we keep killing off our own honey bees we may need them. My small garnen alone has numerous pollinators from species of bees to beetles and others. But our monster mono-culture needs honey bees. My personal belief is that Monsanto chemicals are killing out honey bees and that they are researching their asses off to take control of the pollination process somehow.
Maybe the killers are more hardy? Hopefully outside of a bee keepers colony they cannot survive the winters in the north.

Yes certain pesticides are responsible for the bee kill off. Luckily, honey bees are fast breeders and bee-keepers should be able to keep up with deaths through breeding.
