As Byron York, in The Washington Examiner (August 13, 2020), notes, some members of the "Resistance" are now speculating that (1) Trump will lose the general election in November (which, in itself, is not an unusual conjecture); (2) he will refuse to leave office on January 20, 2021; and (3) he has amassed a private army, which will clash with the US Army, when the latter tries to remove him from office.

Alternatively, he notes that some journalists have concocted a scenario in which Trump actually wins, but Biden "refuse[s] to accept the result in hopes that the military would side with him against the president."

In either case, there would be considerable bloodletting--our own version of the Civil War.

When Trump loses there will be blood letting by their thuggery, I'm sure of that. The election is now being manipulated for all to see; I cite the US Post Office and the closing of polling places as an example. With what has been going on in this country, even now, I cannot see Trump winning.

Amassing a private army of trained soldiers that could take on the US Military would require the financial support of the wealthiest people on the planet. Mr. Trump doesn't have that many (if any) friends among those people. It's also doubtful if there are that many mercs available. It would otherwise have to be an army comprised of Americans and there is no way that a conspiracy involving that many citizens could remain a secret long enough to bring it to fruition.

This time there may be a chance that Trump will resist if there is a clear sign of fraud in the election.
