My view is to always stick with 2 Timothy 3:12-17 and pay no attention
to any "new messages from God." Once we open that door then we have
opened up Pandora's Box out of which can come some very confusing
messages and we have no word from God that says those messages are
actually from Him. Contrast that with the fact that we DO have a word
from God that the writers of the Bible were inspired by God.
Any "good advice" if you decide it is Bible based is good to know about.
But "advice" is not Holy Scripture and carries no authority as being advice
from God --- it could be merely "advice" from mere men.
Sounds to me like you and Jen are on the right course. You can never
go wrong by sticking only with the Holy Bible. This way we don't have to
even be concerned about are the "new messages" from God because the
Bible is a closed book where nothing can be added to it and nothing
subtracted from it. God's word, the Holy Bible, is a finished and
completed Book.
Anyway that's my view on the issue. And thanks for asking for my
views. I appreciate that.
Best.
