(CNN)Death Valley was the hottest place on Earth on Sunday. If verified, it could be the hottest temperature recorded in the world since 1913.

The hottest, driest and lowest national park in California and Nevada recorded a preliminary high temperature of 130 degrees Fahrenheit on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The all-time high of 134 degrees, reported over 100 years ago, was also recorded in Death Valley.

It'll be just as hot on Monday in Death Valley with a predicted high of 129 degrees, per the NWS. The agency is warning people who live in eastern California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah to limit their time outside to between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m.

It only took me one trip in the fall to decide never to go there again. It was coolish, around 100 degrees.

They say that word a lot, "if verified", you didn't notice the Death Valley station is fully automated, using electronic thermometer sensor.

How long does it take to verify it?


I recall that a a couple months ago, the media went bananas over a 100F ( a record for the date) day in Russia, it was a media sponsored lie since the station records a 97F day, which by the way was also depended on verification, but alas the lie spreaded around the world many times, it remains unverified today.....

I looked it up and posted the hard evidence that it was 97F that June day elsewhere, it got ignored, it seems lies are more accepted these days.....

By the way, I NEVER mention any kind of conspiracy claims in my posts, just called the media a liar nothing more.
