There is something about knowing deaths door swinging wildly looking for dinner that gives you a clarity you only feel the groove of a handful of times in your life! Your senses get super sharp searching out survival mode. " Take shelter" my ass. I wear a new pair of socks every day so I grabbed another new pair.

It's amazing to me how good it feels putting on a new sock.

Ok. I sit down on the couch put my steak in front of me.
My senses were peaking in all directions. I could hear things, feel pressure changes , smell things etc.
In addition that was the best tasting steak I've ever eaten in my life.
    It was sensory funtime.

In the South you always put on shoes if it looks like you might take flight !
U dont wanna step on nails in a tornado apocalypse or get your big toe stuck in your neighbors eyeball socket. Hell yea. Come get me !
I have done the same thing! Put socks on. Have shoes ready. Full charge on the cell phone. Overnight bag at the ready.

In the place I am moving into in mid September my first major addition is a tornado shelter rated for an EF5. I intend to have it accessible from inside my home, with the way lit by battery-powered lights. I spoke with my favorite general contractor today about it.

    Yep.

When we hear the tornado sirens, I run and look out the windows and go out on the porch if I have to to see if I can see the funnel cloud.

When I had two kids in University of OK, there was a tornado that came down just north of the campus. I texted them both. My daughter had been told to go to one of the lower basements of the library and that's where she was. My son worked in a one-story building north of the campus. He reported that everyone was up front looking out the windows.

That's how we are in tornado country.
