    Where are the Feminists (NFL)

Last week the New Orleans Saints had the name "Jacob Blake" taped on their helmet as they practiced, even Drew Brees. Apparently the NFL is seriously considering allowing the players to wear social justice names on the back of their helmets, names like Breonna Taylor and George Floyd.

My question is where are the feminists in all this? Jacob Blake had a warrant for sexual assault and reportedly had a long history of domestic abuse. Isn't this the kind of thing they would normally be decrying? Why are they silent on the NFL glorifying someone like this? What if players wore the name Harvey Weinstein on their helmets? And the same goes for the media. Apparently females are not the "oppressed victims" that are currently in vogue at the moment.

    Couple of thoughts.

Many NFL players have pretty horrible records themselves. No one cares - just don't deflate a ball, apparently.

Second, a previous criminal conviction does not justify murder or abuse, and a warrant or charge without a conviction means a presumption of innocence. Have I thought about castrating my abuser with a pair of bricks? Sure thing - but I would never advocate for death, and certainly not murder. If you remove that personal aspect out of it, no one should be advocating for anything aside from fairness and justice, even for those that society sometimes thinks doesn't deserve it.

The NFL shouldn't be advocating anything.

The NFL is turning into an incubator for bigotry and racism.

In the back of my mind I suspected this was going to happen 30 years ago. They are hastening the demise of the NFL faster than I thought they would, however.

So don't watch their games. I suspect you're not their chief demographic anyway.

Maybe people shouldn't be supporting a guy who cheated on three wives, bragged about walking in on teen girls while they were undressing and stated that he could walk up to women and "grab them by the p*ssy". How do you think feminists should feel about someone like that?

I suppose it depends on how many feminists believed Floyd or Blake deserved the death sentence....

George Floyd got what was coming to him. He was a violent beast whose lifestyle finally caught up with him. Karma, or something like that.

You're right... It was silly of me to relegate being a femanist to being a lady... I suppose I was asking the female feminists among us to answer... My apoligies...
