Such a dark day in our nation's history.
I remember the TV being on as I was getting ready to leave the house and the first plane hit. I stopped and watched the coverage a little bit but at that time they were thinking it was a small plane that just somehow got off course. I was getting ready to turn the TV off when the second plane hit. It was at that instant I knew our world was forever changed.
Not long after that, one of our friends, a professional witness for the FAA, was sent to study the Pentagon scene. That really shook him up.

My therapist was apparently on the opposite side of the Potomac but could see the Pentagon when it was hit. Like, had just crossed or was in the process of crossing the 14th Street Bridge. She was an undergrad at the time and said it was just absolutely shocking because it's the Pentagon and no one thought that something like that could ever actually happen.

What a sad sad day.

I was just having a little breakfast in front of TV when it happened. My husband and son were golfing in GEorgia. I called and asked if they knew. THey had just been told. I started taping within a 15 minutes and have the next four days of events on video. Pulled it out today and started watching it again.
My daughter was working in NoVA. She went home, grabbed the pup and tried to get out of the area. There was no moving. It was all she could do to get back to her home.
I was nursing a wicked hangover and watching cartoons when a friend called and told me to turn on the news ("because the world is ending"), I saw the second plane hit, and after I could gather my thoughts, I called everyone I knew, just to tell them I was thinking about them. I will never forget that morning...
