That day I was home waiting for a doctor's appointment, so I as watching the news... I saw the second plane hit the other tower and couldn't believe what I was seeing. A fury went through me like a bolt of lightening. After some time, I gassed up my truck and my wife came home. The kids were teenagers and remembered the Rodney King riots. What makes me the saddest besides the loss of life and the macabre scenes of people jumping from those heights, is that WE effectively did nothing about it. That's what hurts me to this day.

    wrong Richard

The attacks resulted in 2,977 fatalities, over 25,000 injuries, and substantial long-term health consequences, in addition to at least $10 billion in infrastructure and property damage. 9/11 is the single deadliest terrorist attack in human history and the single deadliest incident for firefighters and law enforcement officers in the history of the United States, with 343 and 72 killed, respectively.

you knowledge of events is lacking a lot you and plo should hang out the initial attack resulted in 2977 deaths including children,
I worked with a 9 11 cop who moved fl and he was in great health when 9 11 happened but it affected his lungs

I remember sitting at the desk in ICU and someone came in and said a plane had hit the World Trade Center. I remembered reading before about a plane that had hit the Empire State Building, so I wasn't shocked that such a thing could happen. We turned on a TV and I saw the second jet hit the other tower, and I knew it was on at that point.

Having visited the World Trade Center a few years earlier, I couldn't believe anything could take down a building that big. The Trade Center towers were HUGE. They don't look that big on TV.

Our hospital had an immigrant from India attending an accounting conference in New Jersey. He said he got a lot of angry looks from others (because of his brown skin).

    On the more positive side.

I am not a George Bush fan BUT what a masterful job he did bringing the economy back around. I remember the weeks after, it was just like all business stopped and orders stopped being place. President Bush really averted a possible disastrous turn for the economy.

I too am not a W fanp he is the straw that broke the camels back for me and prompted me to abandon the Repubs.

In addition to the economy, he did a great job uniting the country after the attacks.

Yes I rember vivid details of where I was that day.
I was at launch pad 41 at Cape Canaveral 4054 space wing and had picked up a generator that needed repair in an old military style I was taking it to her Orlando to be prepared on our flatbed truck 2 ton .no radio in the truck.
After dropping it off in Orlando I headed back to Cape Canaveral I pulled into the entrance to the 45th Terrace Bay swing and there was a line and I noticed they had a heavy machine gun setup normally they only have pistols online MMO H&K submachine guns so I knew something was wrong.
They wouldnt let me back on base .I asked why and they told me. It changed my life at work for months it took a extra 2 hours to get on base due to the searchs and there were fighters going over head from time to time on ready alert .
