    "
The third trilateral summit between Egypt, Jordan, and Iran took place at the end of August in Amman, Jordan. The first summit took place in Cairo in March last year, and the second one was held in New York during the regular session of the UN General Assembly in September 2019. Iraq was represented by Prime Minister Adel Abdel Mahdi in the first two summits, and by his successor in the post, Mustafa al-Kadhimi, in the most recent summit. As reported by US media, a few days before the recent summit, the Iraqi Prime Minister was a guest of US President Donald Trump: “The visit, a part of the ongoing strategic dialogue between Iraq and the USA, was a success.” In the talks, Washington disclosed its plan to further subdue the Middle East, but since the United States has already lost what little reputation it once had among the Arab peoples, it has decided to entrust the implementation of its plans to Iraq.......Immediately afterwards, in an interview with the Washington Post, the Iraqi Prime Minister proposed the creation of a “new Middle East” or “New East” in the Levant, which would include Egypt. He explained that the idea was for the countries to work together to stabilize the entire Middle East and find a political solution to the conflicts raging in the region. The new bloc would also cooperate and coordinate their plans so as to achieve economic prosperity for the region’s peoples."......more @this link ...https://journal-neo.org/2020/09/16/n...e-middle-east/

Decrying normalization, Palestinians warn of Third Intifada

The descendants of Arab nomads who got caught in the area after the creation of Israel seem to understand how screwed they are now.

Palestinian protests against the normalization agreements between Israel and the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain could lead to an intifada, Palestinian activists warned on Tuesday.

The warning came as Palestinians held protests against the “treacherous” agreements in some parts of the West Bank. The protests, organized by several Palestinian factions that are part of a new group called the Unified Leadership of the Popular Resistance, were held under the banner: “Normalization is a crime.”

“We are on the brink of a third intifada,” a Fatah activist told The Jerusalem Post. “The Palestinian people feels betrayed by the Arabs and will show the world that the Palestinian issue remains the central issue of all Arabs and Muslims.”

Other activists belonging to various Palestinian factions expressed hope that the Palestinian “day of rage” on the day of the signing ceremony of the normalization agreements at the White House would spark an intifada against Israel.

As part of the “day of rage,” Palestinians took to the streets in Ramallah, Nablus, Jenin, Tulkarm, Hebron and other cities to voice their rejection of the peace accords between Israel and the two Gulf states.

The protesters held placards that read: “No to normalization with the occupation,” “We won’t allow the blood of our martyrs to be turned into a merchandise for trade,” and “Palestine will remain Arab.”

The protesters also chanted slogans denouncing the UAE and Bahrain for making peace with Israel and accusing them of “betraying the Arabs and Muslims.”

The old assumptions about Middle East peace have been shattered

These agreements are significant for a number of reasons, which are not often fully made clear in the daily headlines.

First, these agreements demonstrate that Israel, far from being the pariah it’s often described as being, is in fact enjoying greater regional inclusion and diplomatic relations than it has in recent memory. While Israel’s relations with Persian Gulf states such as the UAE and Bahrain have been open secrets for a number of years, these agreements are now very much out in the open and are being celebrated by their governments and citizens alike. Israel is clearly not the poisoned chalice it once was – or at least as it was regularly characterized.

These peace agreements also show that Iran’s malignant and dangerous influence in the region is not going unnoticed. Canada severed its relations with Iran in 2012 largely because of the Islamic Republic’s ongoing support for terrorism, including arming, training and funding Hezbollah in Lebanon and Syria, in addition to its indescribably horrific treatment of its own people, which includes hanging homosexuals and summary executions, like that of wrestler Navid Afkari. Through its proxies in the region, Iran aims to spread its influence throughout the Shia crescent, an area stretching from Lebanon to Iran with a majority of Shia Muslims, like the Islamic Republic’s predominant population. With Iran exporting its weapons and ideology across the region, the largely Sunni Arab states in the Persian Gulf, like Israel, recognize it as the largest geopolitical threat they face.

The growing list of Arab states announcing peace deals with Israel ultimately shows that the rules that governed Middle East diplomacy for decades simply aren’t based on objective reality. Standard diplomatic thinking has posited that peace between Israel and the Palestinians was the first step in securing a larger peace between Israel and her neighbours throughout the Middle East. Clearly, that’s not the case. Israel is a growing regional power, a technological powerhouse, a scientific innovator and a beacon of liberal democratic values that even monarchies such as the UAE and Bahrain clearly see as a model to emulate – or at the very least engage with in fruitful partnership.

And lastly, what has become abundantly clear is that the Palestinian cause is no longer top of mind for Arab states in the region. For many years, the Palestinian cause was a sacrosanct pillar of Arab nationalism and a cause célèbre for Middle Eastern heads of government. And yet today, while Arab leaders no doubt maintain sympathy for the Palestinian people, they have grown tired of the intransigence of Palestinian leaders and their stubborn refusal to negotiate in good faith with Israel.
But perhaps the most impressive element of the peace agreements between Israel and the UAE and Bahrain is the role of a country that has remained behind the scenes: Saudi Arabia. Both the UAE and Bahrain are small, oil-rich kingdoms, and it’s inconceivable that either country would pursue an open peace agreement with Israel without support from the Saudi monarchy.

The old assumptions about Middle East peace have been shattered.

    Normalization deals rattle Israeli left

    Normalization deals rattle Israeli left

It seems that Israel has a syndrome similar to TDS-H in the US. NDS-H.

The Israeli left and center is not sure how to react to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's diplomatic achievements in the Gulf.
One must also admit that the hatred Netanyahu generates among a large swath of the public, even as many others adore and admire him, blurs the picture of the momentous developments he has engineered.
Left-wing politicians and voters are pulling long faces and displaying contempt for the agreements, calling them a peace of the rich and pointing out that Israel had previously enjoyed ties with the Gulf states, albeit quietly. The former leader of the Meretz Party, Zehava Gal-On, expressed this attitude succinctly when she called the agreements “fake peace,” arguing that Israel did not have any dispute with the Emirates to begin with, that it was not an enemy state and shared no border with Israel.

This sad state of affairs expresses the short-sightedness of an important political camp in failing to understand the evolution in the Middle East and the shifting interests since the Arab Spring. The delinking of peace with the Palestinians from peace with the Arab world will be the legacy of Israel’s longest serving prime minister. The Middle East is undergoing accelerated change and a new alliance among Israel, pragmatic Arab states and the United States.

    Yup, NDS-H.

Sorry, but I don't even believe you are who you say you are. Your anti-US rhetoric is certainly not from an Australian perspective.

Egypt and Jordan have a Palestinian problem and Iran is not their solution. Iran feeds the problem.

But yes, Obama, Biden, Hillary and Kerry cost the US a great deal in reputation around the world.
