I recently watched an absolutely wonderful 7-episode min-series on Netflix called 'Godless' that, if you think of it as a 7-hour movie, is right up there at or near the top of my all time list of great Westerns. Another classic mini-series and a must-see is the original 'Lonesome Dove' (not to be confused with its various sequels and t.v. reboots).

Abilene Town with Randolph Scott is one of the best Western films Scott (or anyone else) ever starred in, as is Ride the High Country, which was both Scott's and fellow Western star Joel McCrea's swan song. Scott made nearly every Western he ever appeared in a thousand percent better by just riding into it.
    Godless was actually surprisingly great!

Abilene Town is one of the very best.

Kinda a modern-day western.... Has anyone else watched Yellowstone? I am about half-way through it and love it. Of course Kevin Costner is my heartthrob.

I was slow to pick up on it, but a friend kept telling me to stay with it. I'm glad I did. I love the characters in it.
