Post The mysterious Bible find that sparked a real life detective story

The mysterious Bible find that sparked a real life detective story. The ornate book containing a Victorian 'death photograph' and an infant's funeral card was found hidden in the bathroom.

A chance discovery during renovation work on a North Tyneside house had all the hallmarks of the start of a spooky mystery tale. And it sparked a real life detective story as the home owner and a local genealogist set out to to track down the owner of the items. It all began when an ornate Bible which contained what looked like a Victorian 'death photograph' and a funeral card for a one-year-old child were located in a hidden compartment in the bathroom. Caela Gosling, 42, bought the house in Monkseaton last year which had previously been lived in by the same lady for 70 years. She said: "Not surprisingly it needed a lot of updating and as part of that I was removing the airing cupboard and decorative archway from the
bathroom when I saw what looked like a parcel in brown paper and string."

    This is the story...
