Russia Takes on Its Demographic Decline

    HIGHLIGHTS

    • Russia's demographic decline will be a key concern for Moscow in the coming years as a result of emigration and low birth rates.
    • Contradictory data sets and the Kremlin's plans to attract migrants make it difficult to predict the exact extent and speed of Russia's demographic decline, but it will nevertheless impact the Russian economy and Moscow's ability to project power abroad.
    • Even if Russia succeeds in attracting significant numbers of migrants to mitigate its population decline, Moscow will face greater difficulties associated with managing domestic ethnic tensions and political instability.
No one denies this demographic problem , but believing that it could cause the collapse of the Russian state , is laughable , and only US style wishful thinking at best . Many countries have a similar demographic problem , like Japan and Australia , for instance .....but we don't hear any predictions of collapse about them ....(lol) .....this is more Russophibia-based , than reality.

    DOLLAR will CRASH in 2021

Next year will be brutal for the US currency, according to Yale University senior fellow Stephen Roach. He said that his “seemingly crazed idea” that the dollar will crash shouldn’t seem so crazy anymore.
“We’ve got data that’s confirmed both the saving and current account dynamic in a much more dramatic fashion than even I was looking for,” Roach told CNBC.
According to him, “The current account deficit in the United States, which is the broadest measure of our international imbalance with the rest of the world, suffered a record deterioration in the second quarter.” He added that “The so-called net-national savings rate, which is the sum of savings of individuals, businesses and the government sector, also recorded a record decline in the second quarter going back into negative territory for the first time since the global financial crisis.”
Last June, the economist predicted a collapse of the US dollar could happen in the next year or two, maybe more. Now, he sees it happening by the end of 2021.

“Lacking in saving and wanting to grow, we run these current account deficits to borrow surplus saving, and that always pushes the currencies lower,” he said. “The dollar is not immune to that time-honored adjustment.”
Roach, the former chairman of Morgan Stanley Asia, also put the probability of a double-dip recession in the US above 50 percent.
“As we head into flu season with the new infection rates moving back up again with mortality unacceptably high, the risk of an aftershock is not something you can dismiss,” he said. “The record of history suggests that this is not a time unlike what the frothy markets are doing to bet that this is different.” ..............https://www.rt.com/business/501549-d...ash-next-year/

Have trouble with math? You know as you subtract out deaths and the births and immigration don't get you into the positive growth decline occurs. If that doesn't change what do you guess happens?

The only thing that declines , is population growth , and population in general . It won't cause the state to collapse or the economy to crash . This problem will be addressed long before it becomes anywhere near as critical and you are claiming.......and not just in Russia , but in every country that has a similar set of demographic numbers.........however , if it makes you feel better , and massages your anti-Russia sentiments , believe it all you like ....(lol)

Demographic freefall will have a significant and mostly negative economic impact. That is inevitable. Russia is also huge and increasingly underpopulated. Lots of resources too...hmmm

Russians are very sensitive about this.

These leaders making stupid mistakes obviously made those decisions based on the information provided to them. We now live in a world that no one can trust any information given to them which of course creates chaos. Chaos makes all governing powers all over the world look weak. Their populations will eventually turn on them which is why leaders are creating the stage for their populations turn on each other.

OK. This discussion is beyond your IQ.

A nation can survive as its population continues to drop and drop.

All of a sudden , we've gone from a demographic problem to a demographic freefall......(lol). I think Americans should be more concerned with an economic free-fall of their own economy , when the dollar starts to tank next year.
