So, you are suggesting that "ever since 1789" (when the US Constitution was ratified), the US has trashed all vestiges of bipartisanship?

And that we have simply been The Blue United States of America and The Red United States of America, with an utter contempt for the other party, and its adherents?

(Oh, and please do not drag Barack Obama into this conversation. First, most Republicans did not have the deep, visceral hatred for the man that many Democrats display toward President Trump. Moreover, I do not recall a desire to "resist" the man through any means available.)

You mentioned resistance toward a duly elected President and whether that equated to civil war. Perhaps I misunderstood your point.

Did he? How did BO the Peep get his budgets passed with a McConnell controlled Senate? How did the Peep get any policy passed witha Republican majority in the Senate?

The leftness thinks it can equate McConnell's alleged Obstruction. To the Demos Resistance to create dysfunction in the government. They can't even come close.

Your argument is solid. I can’t refute it, so I concede. Well played.

Attempting to remove a President thru any means when there is no criminality or illegality. Is still an attempt at a coup.

A Coup d'etat is defined as a sudden decisive exercise of force in politics, especially the violent overthrow or alteration of an existing government by a small group.

While well played.....it just wasnt good enough.
