NFL players anger fans with social statements

The NFL is currently in the biggest PR disaster in its history, and the league’s players aren’t making it any better.


The NFL’s issues started when disgraced quarterback Colin Kaepernick started taking a knee during the national anthem last year in protest of alleged police brutality, claiming that he can’t respect a country that treats minorities so poorly. Ever since, other players joined in on the protests to show support for the unemployed athlete, and things hit fever pitch when President Trump called them all out.


Since then, fans have been revolting en-masse and both refusing to go to games and tune in during their broadcasts, causing the league’s ratings and game attendance to plummet. Each week, the NFL sees ratings decline, and at least one game this year didn’t even have half of the seats in the stadium filled, which was a first for what used to be the most popular sport in our nation.


That’s not to mention, patriotic advertisers have been dropping their sponsorship of the league due to the anti-American protests taking place on the field. Plus, the NFL was set to lose some $200 million in ad revenues before the controversy started, and that number is likely to rise as air time during the games becomes less valuable as viewers continue to tune out.

Apparently, the displeasure of the fans is starting to take its toll on the players, as new video circulating online shows. During Monday night’s game, where at least two players spit in the faces of the victims of Vegas by again protesting the National Anthem, other players were seen cussing out fans as they were being heckled from the stands.


This isn’t the image the NFL needs to be projecting right now.

Apparently they do not want to share the videos anymore.

The NFL agrees that they don't want anymore bad publicity but they created it through the weakness of the commissioner.


Imagine if my machine operators started telling customer that they were only going to make the products that they wanted to make and I let it happen.

Should I expect to lose my customers = Hell ya!

Maybe I could have my operators call them up and yell at them also. What could go wrong?

Some friends of mine think the owners want the profits to drop so they can lower player salaries- which are in part based on a % of profits. Of course that doesn't really help if profits go back up once the Owners crack down and end the political games that are currently destroying the league. At least without changing the way salaries are calculated.

Last I checked no one ever said there was a mandate by government to watch the NFL. Just the reality check on the NFL losing viewers and people showing up for games. Loss in the sale of Merchandise and the loss of ratings.


But then leftistd do have habit of seeing things that arent ever part of reality.

There isn't.

But, the media keeps hyping the bad behavior of the players so it's front and center. I think it's funny that it's backfiring on them, but, no, I wouldn't cross the street to see those idiots running around a field.

It is an interesting case study of an industry going out of its way to harm itself for social justice reasons that have nothing to do with the industry.
