    Thanks for the comment.
My view is that BOTH views are true.
    {1} MY OP's view
    and
    {1) A direct reference to Psalm 22

    Start quote.
"There is another possible reason for Jesus to cry out, “My God, my God,
why have you forsaken me?” It could be that Jesus’ intent in quoting
Psalm 22:1 was to point His hearers to that psalm. When they read
Psalm 22, they would no doubt see the many fulfilled prophecies
included in that song of David. Even while experiencing the agony
of the cross, Jesus was teaching the crowds and proving yet again
that He was the Messiah who fulfilled the Scripture"

    Oops. Sorry about that.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

God grew weary of centuries of animal sacrifice.

Perhaps blood-letting of innocent creatures wasn't working. Perhaps destroying cute little animals no long evoked guilt. Or -- gasp! -- maybe it was attracting a cruel and saddistic element into church.

Whatever the reasons, God had had enough with the ancient rituals of animal sacrifice. But he owed an explanation for ending this bad habit that probably broke the heart of many a small child. He had a plan. He would send to the Faithful His only begotten Son, renowned even among envious jews for living a perfect life dedicated solely to pleasing God, His Father, and the Son of God would be sacrificed and thus rewarded in eternal afterlife for the ideal life he had lived that defined the Way to Heaven for anyone -- through emulating Jesus and following His teachings.

Judaism, for whatever reasons, all but precluded attaining heaven, even by Jews' own admission. God thus prescribed devotion to Jesus as the Way to eternal life despite an impossibly imperfect world. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice but once and for all time, Guiding all who followed thereafter. What was not possible before now was doable because the Son to the Father showed the Way.

Animal sacrifice was thereafter abandoned. Little critters were spared for all time, and Jesus is with us forever.

When John Baptized Jesus of Nazareth (a holy, human vessel specifically created for the Holy Spirit) the Holy Spirit descended on him. He was no longer just Jesus of Nazareth at that point. The Holy Spirit became one with him and he became Jesus Christ. It was then time for him to begin his ministry, which wasn't for him to do alone, but as one with the Holy Spirit. He was able to perform miracles because the Holy Spirit enabled him to. The spirit couldn't stay with him when he died, so it had to depart from him on the cross. When it did, he cried out "why hast thou forsaken me".
    Just musing.
