The Times is proud that it released Trump’s tax returns, but it shouldn’t be

    By Andrea Widburg

    Excerpt:

The New York Times is undoubtedly pleased that it published more than two decades' worth of Donald Trump's tax returns. The self-congratulations are premature. The Times' article reveals that Trump was telling the truth all along about his audit. We can also see that Obama's policies benefited rich people. Finally, because the policies show how our complicated progressive tax system will always benefit rich people with good accountants, the Times unwittingly advanced the argument for a flat tax.

The Times' intrepid reporters are not interested in the fact that Joe Biden used his political connections to enrich his family, especially Hunter. They don't write that (to date) there is unrefuted evidence that Biden blocked the new Ukrainian government's efforts to root out corruption by withholding American money until Ukraine stopped investigating a corporation that paid Hunter for doing nothing. You'd think a major news outlet would find that intriguing a story involving political corruption and foreign meddling, but the Times has given it a hard pass.

Instead, the Times published more than twenty years of Donald Trump's tax returns. They did so even though someone acted illegally when he gave the Times the returns. One can argue, too, that the Times itself acted illegally when it published the returns.

Still, while it's lovely to imagine the reporters and their editors slinging hash at a federal prison, what's relevant now is determining the effect of the tax return release on the upcoming election. As a first pass, based upon perusing Twitter and Facebook feeds, Trump-haters still hate Trump, and Trump-supporters still support him.

Drill down a little, though, and a few interesting details emerge. For years, Trump rebuffed demands that he produce his tax returns by saying the IRS is auditing him, and he will not produce the returns while the audit is ongoing. The article confirms that:

So far I have yet to see that he broke any tax laws or lied over them.

I think the DA who is prosecuting this case is guilty of leaking information.

And I suspect he brought these charges for one reason only: to leak the tax returns. If true, he should be disbarred.

Did you read the NYT article yet?

The NYT sucks as usual and doesn't try to be fair in their 437th bird cage quality hit piece against Trump.

NYT Bombshell Essentially Boils Down to This: Trump Paid Millions in Taxes, Owes No Debt to Russia

    BY STEPHEN GREENSEP 28, 2020

    excerpt:

“Trump Paid Millions in Taxes” isn’t nearly as scandalous a headline as “Trump Paid Only $750 in Taxes,” although, to be fair, it does have the advantage of being true.

Alexandria Brown dug deep into the New York Times‘ story to see if there was any truth to the shrieking headlines:

As Brown further noted, “Trump PAID, as in transferred to the US Treasury, $1 million in 2016 and $4.2 million in 2017. Note also that most of the overpayment was rolled forward, not refunded.”

People who own and run businesses take losses in some years, and pay little or nothing in taxes, and make great sums in other years and pay much more in taxes.

They also take advantage of tax breaks, tax credits, and tax incentives — just like you and I do.

Here’s a screencap from the actual NYT report:

Why does anyone still think NYT post credible articles, when they lie or omit relevant information continuously?

That is actually worse. They are telling people only what they want them to say and nothing else.
The only acceptable answer was not to do anything with them if they got their hands on them.

The government should respond and close down the NYTimes. (I knew you would like that)
