Biden / Trump Debate...I changed the channel

I thought Mathews did a terrible job as moderator and was totally surprised. He is a very experienced person. When he did try to stop all the interruptions and over talking, he did it in a very miner way and most of the time he said nothing to Biden when he was interrupting. Yes, Trump over did it. However , he was the one standing there listening while he was being called a lier, clown, racist and the killer of thousands of people. One good point Trump was allowed to make was...that he was elected for 4 years, not 3 and even Justice Ginsburg had said a President is elected for 4 years. That finely shut Biden down on his rant about how he should not have nominated a replacement for Ginsburg and "let the people decide" who the President and Senate members were. Again, Biden said he would not answer the question of ...would he "stack the Supreme Court". Mathews did not follow that up by asking, why will you not tell us IF you would? He should have.

It was Chris WALLACE...not Mathews...but it is late and all is forgiven. Time for me to log off too.

Poor Chris Wallace. Trump would not quit interrupting Biden, and Chris had no control at all. At one point he even had to raise his voice to Trump. Then it became a "shout over the other guy" scenario, so I switched over to You Tube and watched cat and cute animal videos after one hour and ten minutes.

I know this is how Trump operates, but it came off as bad form in a formal debate.

I was also expecting Biden to make several gaffs, but none happened in the hour and ten minutes I watched it. That was all I could stand of it. I think interrupting someone when it is their turn to speak is the rudest thing anyone can do. I don't like that tactic that is rapidly becoming an interview tactic on all networks. They are your guests on your show...let them speak.

Kinda hard for him to make gaffes when his partner Chris Wallace throws him softballs and interrupts the opposition.

It was a lousy debate. Everyone saw the obvious bias in the moderator.

Trump looked like a guy who was desperate. He knows the writing is on the wall and has nothing left but half truths and smears instead of actual policy positions. It was, as Dana Piro said, a total $#@! show and that falls mostly on our classy president. He is close to becoming totally unhinged.

Pretty much. One thing was a surprise though was that Biden threw more insults than Trump. Usually it's Trump who is full of insults.

It was sort of like "debates" here. Trump was aggressive, Biden weak, and tired, and angry by the end, but didn't fall apart. So no great victory either way.

Wallace picked a poor debate format.

The next debate needs to be the traditional 2 min one side then 1 minute response. Then flip 2 minutes other side and 1 min response.

I recorded it, but haven't watched. I caught the end of it live, and I'm convinced that the beginning wasn't much different. I said it a month ago...the only format that will work entails an off switch for the microphones, on the moderator's table. It doesn't matter what the format is, trump will turn it into a reality show.


That was clearly his plan last night, and according to all media outlets, he came across as the moron that he is.

You have to watch it to get the full effect. Turning off the mic in the format I outlined above makes sense.
