    Or the force of the bullet led to a blow out fracture of the orbital socket. The facial bones are very delicate there.

    Either way it would likely be fatal, even today.

    Those would have been the ferrotype photos and required a couple seconds for exposure. Not great for action shots. Just fine for a dead body. "don't move Mr President"
