    I tend to agree with that, but in this case, we have a system that is already battle proven. It saves us a lot of time and money in R&D and if we can take it and tweak it and make it better, that works out well for us.

    I think the one requirement we should always have when we buy a foreign weapon system like that is we don't buy the system. We buy the right to produce the system ourselves. We may buy a certain number of units for the initial purchase, but we should never be in a position where a foreign power controls the flow of spare parts, etcetera. We should buy the rights to the system and start producing them here in the US as soon as possible.

    In light of the recent fighting in Armenia/Azerbaijan this may be useful.

    This is a short range system, and in that conflict drones (some Israeli supplied) are being used effectively against armor, and personell.

    These small "kamikaze" drones dive bomb down on their targets and detonate 30+ yards from the target, and yet they send a stream of molten metal into armor, or the equivalent of a giant claymore mine in front and to the sides of the target.
