I included that link not to "prove" anything, but simply to provide some basic, undisputed background on old Johnny. I wanted to post a Christianity Today article from 1979, but apparently one has to subscribe to read it. And no, I don't ridicule anyone who cites a Wikipedia article as a source for information, as long as that information isn't some ridiculous b.s. that somebody posted there yesterday that the Wiki folks just haven't gotten around to taking down yet. In any case, my point - that people have been making a living stirring up fundamentalist Christians and uneducated fringe-Right conservatives about "Satanists" for a long time - remains as valid and unchallenged. As anyone with any genuine interest in putting an end to things like child sex trafficking knows, it's just a stupid, counterproductive game played on the naïve and gullible.

People who waste their own time and that of others trying to link child sex trafficking or other crimes to "Satanists", and who enable and enrich self-styled experts who are simply preying on the naivety and religious or political prejudices of the uneducated and the gullible, are not helpful in the actual fight to stop such crimes from happening.

I bought a cool little Cthulhu statue at a store at the mall last year, to put on the shelf with the Lovecraft books. I even got a military discount on it when the clerk saw my retired ID.
A British author named James Lovegrove wrote a wonderful trilogy called the Cthulhu Casebooks, and in the third volume, 'Sherlock Holmes and the Sussex Sea-Devils', Holmes and Watson - spoiler alert - actually manage to kill Cthulhu.
I'm sorry...what were we talking about?
