There has been a market for this kind of alarmist fairy tale silliness for many, many years - going back to the Salem Witch Trials and beyond. I know I've told the story at least once here about the "ex-Satanist priest" named Johnny Todd who made the rounds of fundamentalist churches in the '70. I heard him speak at a Conservative Baptist church in northern California, where he claimed that almost everyone in government was a practicing Satanist, as were most of the corporate leaders in the U.S. and every person involved at the higher levels in the entertainment industry. He claimed to have been present at a human sacrifice presided over by George McGovern.

Yes, there is certainly child abuse and sex trafficking in the world and no effort should go undone to uncover and put a stop to it. Ascribing it to "Satanists", however, is a high-paying gig for people like Wong and a red herring that does nothing but impede legitimate investigations and muddy the waters. People who have permitted themselves to believe that a Satanic cult is behind it all, let alone that the DNC and Democratic leadership generally is involved with Satanism, are just being ridiculous.

I was just reading online about the first book. I'm leery of grand conspiracy theories that attempt to include too many groups over too great a span of time. Of course conspiracies exist - that's why we have a word for them - but envisioning a vast, centuries-old cabal of humans operating across the globe in secret...that strikes me as being pretty far-fetched.
