Sometimes when there is nothing on TV, she just leaves it locked on GRIT TV. 24/7 Cowboy shows and movies.
100% of the commercials are stuffed with MEDICARE commercials.
I guess they think...and accurately so...only old folks watch GRIT.

PS...I don't call it GRIT TV.

I always say..." let's switch to the SHOOTOUT AT DEAD MAN'S GULCH channel "

That has become the name I gave that channel...SHOOTOUT AT DEAD MAN'S GULCH

...because almost every show has that theme.

Haha.......You're correct! If they're putting those commercials on the channels they know older folks watch, then they should go all the way and, stop showing them at 4PM, when most older folks go to bed!........LOL

They're doing commercials about people shopping, doing everyday stuff......wearing masks.

They're telling us, this is ok, this is normal, it's normal to be sitting in your car, waiting for the employee to bring your groceries .....wearing a mask.

The media, certainly - including t.v. commercials and shows and theatrical films, to some extent - and also to more people personally knowing both interracial and same-sex couples; and when it comes to the same-sex marriage question, more celebrities feeling like they can come out of the closet without forfeiting their careers. Somewhere in the 60-70% range of Americans now approve of same-sex marriage, which is a huge shift from thirty years ago when even most gay activists didn't think it would happen in their lifetimes. But even more telling as a factor in the shift in attitudes toward same-sex marriage is the fact that younger people don't have the problem with the idea that many of their elders do. I suppose you might attribute that increased tolerance to media exposure, at least in part, but then the media have felt freer to show those things as realities because of the increased acceptance. It's a classic chicken-or-the-egg situation.

I watched a video a while back of someone going into a fast food place and ordering a burger...and when it came, he very politely asked for the manager. Then he showed the manager a photo of what the burger was supposed to look like, according to their advertising, and asked him to make him a burger that looked like the picture. And the manager did. The young Black cashier was laughing so hard he was almost crying.

Or just watch off the internet, as I have been doing for decades now, bypassing ALL commericals?

If a liberal complained about seeing too much of something (or someone) on television, the same members who are currently agonizing over the allegedly outsized presence of black people, gays and interracial couples on their t.v. screens would be loudly decrying them as "snowflakes" and saying they'd been "triggered". Exactly the same type of reaction, with different labeling. Some conservatives refuse to accept that THEY could ever be guilty of snowflakey or triggered behavior; that's just something libs are.

Did they hate men in it? Then it would be acceptable.
