Have you seen the one with the pregnant black woman talking to her baby? She's pretty much apologizing for her baby being born into a country that is vastly different now.....that was ok, until she went on to pretty much blame it on the racism coming from white people.

I'm seeing a LOT of commercials with mixed race married (assuming)couples with kids in them also. One is particularly amusing since one of the kids seems to be a nearly albino black kid. The length these car commercials seem to go.

I have become completely desensitized to interruptions. I've developed the ability to wholly ignore commercials, pop-ups, distractions and focus on more important things because in this society people are bombarded with distractions. Just like I've developed the ability to avoid the ankle biter crowd here without putting them on ignore. It's super easy just to skip over their meaningless rambling and find posts worth reading.

And for good reason, people - most people distract easily and focus on the irrelevant, just like the OP. I think this target demographic, easily distracted and focusing on the irrelevant is why there are so many interruptions - because this strategy works.

I dunno, maybe there's some kind of point there...somewhere. A 2018 Pew Research poll found that 17% of Americans thought that interracial marriage was "morally wrong" - 28% of the Republicans and 12% of the Democrats.

Then of course there was the 2011 poll of Mississippi Republicans wherein 46% not only disapproved of interracial marriage, they thought that it should be illegal.

You know, it's funny: I was told just a short time ago that members on this forum almost never complain about there being too many minorities in commercials...and here I think this is the second or third thread on the subject in a week. Hunh.

You want true and realistic representation in television commercials? Do you imagine that most people who drink beer are young, slim, good-looking people who spend all their time shooting pool in well-lighted bars or playing volleyball on the beach?

But it is. In commercials and television shows every sexually desirable white woman is paired with a handsome, successful black man. No hidden messages there...

Not that it is a big deal. Hollywood is doing their part. That is all.
