Post USA Today Football Coaching Salary Survey

My wife and wallet informed me that yesterday was Amazon Prime day, so in the spirit of finding incredible bargains, you will not find a better value buy than Ryan Day's current Ohio State contract. Yes, the annual USA Today Football Coaching Salary Survey is in!!! Once again, my fellow-alum Nick Satan leads the pack. How or why *ichigan continues to even pay Jim kacki pants Harbaugh is way beyond me. After the raping of the 'scoop and score' reversal, I expect Ryan Day to climb into the top ten soon.

It makes you wonder why any coach would consider moving up to the the NFL.

But what is missing here is that the College coach owns the town. Plus they control the team promotions not the players. The coach gets the shoe contracts not the players... Collage towns have cheap housing meaning they live in castles...

The College coach does not have to put up with prima donna players and doesn't have to take any lip from them. Life is a whole lot better.

I remember living in Lexington KY when Pitino was at UK. He owned everything form restaurants to laundry-mats. No doubt they were partnerships with people just using his name in many cases and giving him a share.

Why would anyone pay Harbaugh that much at Michigan?

Because college football is big business. And the University along with the influential boosters determined he was worth it. Mostly cash from television network contracts.

The Michigan Wolverines are the third-most valuable college football team in the United States, according to a new list from Forbes, while Michigan State is ranked No. 22.
According to Forbes, the Wolverines come in behind two teams from Texas and ahead of both Alabama and Ohio State.

With $127 million in average revenue from the 2014-2016 seasons, Michigan is actually tied with Alabama, but they have a higher profit margin which puts them ahead; $75 million to $59 million.

Respectfully, to quote the great Antonin Scalia: that's jiggery-pokery.
