How do you prepare for winter?

Tonight is the first night it feels sort of cold outside. I'm going to get a nice warm electric blanket and an electric throw. I cant think of much else I need ! Oh..a floor heater!

Its just getting hot in Australia. I prefer the cold.

It depends on where I am.

Here, all I have to do is switch the thermostat from cool, to heat.

The other place? Cut, split and stack firewood, winterize the horse trough, locate the snow shovel and, deicer, make sure there's plenty of food and supplies, for humans and animals, stock up on coffee and hot chocolate mix.

Edit......make sure there's gas for the generator, in case of prolonged power outages.....the last one lasted 52 hours.

I could always tell when a cold front was on the way. My Jewish ex gf would always throw another Gentile in the fireplace.

Oh I simply curse the fact I no longer have a fireplace and bring out the heavy sweaters.

Hair dryer to warm up under blankets -
Sleep with lumberjack wool socks on -
Mohair and wool long sweaters -
Winter working boots -gloves, wool scarves -

Food : more warm meals and drinks
