Michael Yon: Dispatch 24: Return to America: Drugs, Drugs, Homeless, Drugs
Michael Yon is an ex-Army SoF guy who is now an independent war correspondent. He lives in Thailand but came back to the US to cover the Antifa / BLM riots in the Oregon / Washington area.
This is his 24th dispatch since returning to the US. His earlier ones are interesting too. In one he describes how he studies the protest graffiti to get a sense of the protesters. He stated that graffiti in Hong Kong (and elsewhere in Asia) is artistic, stating protest goals articulately. By comparison, protest graffiti here is childish and provides no clear ideology or goals. Just general banalities.
In this dispatch he discusses the Proud Boys. Neither him nor law enforcement see anything threatening about them.
Today we were out with Proud Boys. Checking them out in Salem, Oregon. The Proud Boys are not a concern. The ones we met are fine. They like to drink a lot of beer but they were not up to any trouble. One even had moonshine.
The Proud Boys numbering 40-50 (including many women) marched to the Governor's Mansion. The police know that Proud Boys are no trouble and only about six officers showed up. Many local and Feds have told me they don't worry about Proud Boys.
