I am not denying that men commit a big majority of assault on strangers/casual acquaintances. Men also commit almost all war violence. Men also commit a significant share (not necessarily over 50%) of family abuse. Nevertheless, men abused by women suffer unique challenges and severe injustice.
1) Many men have experienced Family Violence by women. Some have been abused by their mothers -- almost twice as many as by fathers. Others suffer abuse from intimate partners. According to "Differences in Frequency of Violence and Reported Injury Between Relationships With Reciprocal and Nonreciprocal Intimate Partner Violence", 18.9% of young women and 6.1% of young men perpetrated nonreciprocal IPV. Here.
2) Male victims of abuse are re-victimized by the police. According to a study presented in "Can Male Victims of Domestic Violence Get the Help They Need?" by Dr. Denise A. Hines, when male victims of DV called the police, the female abuser was arrested in 17% of cases, the male help seeker was arrested in 26% of cases, while both partners were arrested in 8% of cases. Here.
3) The same men who have been abused by women and re-victimized by Police are being told on Social Media that they are oppressive trash and thus must accept all kinds of hate directed at their gender. They are told that they must apologize for their "Male Privilege" and accept unlimited insults like #menaretrash and #killallmen without complaining. This adds enormous insult to severe injury!
