Congressmen and legislators cannot be familiar with gun issues and also be gun grabbers because the science does not support "gun control", the phoniest of the phony, fake, "feel good" issues that will not die because it's such a pretty-sounding lie.
A lot of evil things are pretty. Look it up. This is one of the most evil.
Politicians could not possibly be informed of the science of the last 20 years, all of which rejects gun "control" and supports individual gun ownership. Nowhere is gun confiscation supported by the facts. Gun confiscation to keep Americans safe is purely a political rouse.
The Founders clearly saw the great importance of creating and preserving the Second Amendment. Today's gun grabbers, almost entirely democrats, hippity-hop over the Founders' reasoning without a thought about it in their little tickle-me-silly brains.
Today, the only reason individuals in congress could and would support "gun control", which is not control but confiscation of guns from honest law-abiding citizens while illegal guns flourish simply because that traffic can't be stopped, is because they fear citizen rejection of their unAmerican, oligarchical agenda greatly facilitated by gun confiscation.
Gun confiscation allows bad people to control good people in the interest of crime and criminals. That is just fact born out in history at every turn.

If your members of congress have failing marks on gun issues, no matter to which party they belong, vote for the other person or risk losing the Constitution -- your Constitution, the only real glue that holds this country together.
If the Second goes down, it will all go down.
In reality in the US, to a large degree gun grabbers are crime abettors.
