I am looking at the chart for ohio.

As you can see once things started getting bad the mask mandate was implemented and for ~ 3 months things leveled off.
But now cases are ramping up. why?
Here is my understanding... The cooler weather and the restarting of schools create better conditions for covid to spread. Remember: Masks don't STOP the spread. They reduce the spread.
Cooler temperatures create drier air. This allows airborne virus to hang in the air for longer periods of time and travel farther than before.
Also cooler weather draws people indoors more which ,again, promotes transmission.
The verdict on how easily kids transmit is not in yet, but opening schools cannot be helping.

There are now documented cases of people getting infected by coronavirus twice.
Therefore Herd immunity via infection no longer seems to be a viable option.
Doctors, nurses and hospitals staff have been wearing surgical masks for nearly a hundred years. There are no increased incidents lung disease in this group as far as I am aware. Masks are not made of asbestos fibres or anything similar. Even if it were true that significant fibres are inhaled, the body breaks it down. Your fear of masks fibres in the lungs sounds made up. Where have you been getting your info?

Lets be clear. this does not mean that you have an 85% chance of getting covid if you wear a mask.
wearing a mask does not protect the wearer.
If you are ina room full of covid infected people, and you wear a surgical or cloth mask, you are still susceptible.
If other people do not wear a mask they can give it to you still.
I dont know how accurate that 85% number is or where it comes from, or what the context is, but it seems like a cherry picked outlier. I dont have time to look into every crazy thing that comes up.
here is an article that might adress it: https://www.wral.com/coronavirus/fac...ctly/19340391/

You can look at the data in post #1 for yourself and decide for yourself.
When I look at it, i see how masks are helping.
you may choose to look at it and somehow find a way to say its worse with masks.
I would be interested to read your interpretation of the graph in that case.

See my post #34
the constitution doesn't say we have to wear pants in public either. yet you can get arrested in many states if you dont.
if your behavior is harmful to others government can take action to restrict your freedom.
