Post Why Your Brain Can’t Resist Reese’s

Why Your Brain Can’t Resist Reese’s - Ahead of Halloween, I’m thinking about self-control and king-sized candy bars..

    1 gjy0iKsanqOSVTluQ8OyXg.jpeg

From the article: I have a pretty gnarly sweet tooth. Like, “can’t keep a pint of ice cream in the freezer because I’ll finish it” kind of sweet tooth. My fiancé, on the other hand, can’t really be bothered about sugary treats. He’ll literally take a bite out of an Oreo and put the other half of the cookie back in the bag. (He may also be a serial killer for that move, but that’s another article.)

Our different, ahem, strategies were put to the test last week when he bought a two-pound bag of Halloween candy in case we had any trick-or-treaters this Saturday, and the bag disappeared four days later. The mystery of the missing candy remains unsolved…

But it got me thinking: Why do some people have self-control around desserts while others are seemingly insatiable?

    This is the story: https://elemental.medium.com/why-you...s-724d89f42969

Until recently, I had a sweet tooth that could not be denied.

And that was actually toned down from when I was younger, where I indulged in anything that involved the word sugar. Then a health issue came up that pretty much gave me physical penalties for the consumption of chocolate and certain other sweets, not this 'you'll regret that down the road!' balderdash.

I will still occasionally have a Reese's, with the idea that with that tiny bit of chocolate, is peanut butter, which is good protein....

Edited to say: Overweight is not a problem I have ever had, quite the opposite, so am I again, the exception to the rule?

Why My Brain Can't Resist Reese's.
    by Lummy

My brain can't resist Reese's. This is because I am a weak man.

    It can't resist Snickers either.

    The End.

    Added sugar is a drug.
Power always thinks it has a great soul, and vast views, beyond the comprehension of the weak. And that it is doing God service when it is violating all His laws.

True. Sugar is recognized as a "gateway" drug. If you are a good boy or girl mom deals you candy from her purse.
