Jason Whitlock Makes a Good Point

Jason Whitlock says that LeBron James and other woke athletes are mimicking hip hop artists instead of sports heroes. They've taken up the "F*@# the Police" narrative. Both rock and hip hop have a history of supporting left wing political causes and representing a rebellious attitude and counterculture stance. Modern day athletes are following this model in stance, behavior, and attire, instead of taking the more traditional, wholesome path usually associated with sports, because spectator sports is usually a family event.

Whitlock used to be on Speak for Yourself on FS1, apparently he's left to pursue his own vlogs on social media. A legitimate route these days. The more I hear from him the more I respect him.

Unless you were a saint as a kid then you probably grew up adverse to the cops. Same as all those bad people that would not let you do whatever you wanted.

The difference is that these sports clowns are grown up now and still have the mentality of a 16 year old.

It's true, I'm older now and I think I've turned into my father.
It's the old saying: "If you're young and you're not liberal you have no heart. If you're old and you're not conservative you have no brains". A lot of truth in that one, I think.

But Whitlock is right, sports used to be a wholesome family past time, and the athletes tried to be positive role models for the kids. Now they tell them to resist the police, which will probably result in them getting shot.
