Political Scientist Helmut Norpoth Predicts Trump Has A 91% Chance At Re-Election

Helmut Norpoth, a political scientist, joined the Daily Caller’s Caity McDuffee to talk about his Primary Model that predicts President Donald Trump has a 91% chance of re-election.

The model has accurately predicted 25 out of 27 of the last elections, including Trump’s win in 2016.


While the Primary Model leans heavily in favor of a Trump win, most polls have Former Vice President Joe Biden in the lead. A recent Real Clear Politics poll shows Biden up 7.7 points.

“In the end, it depends on the electoral college breakdown, and I give Donald Trump a sizable lead in the electoral college,” Norpoth said.

The model predicts President Trump will win 362 electoral votes, leaving Biden with 176.

That would be a Trumpslide.

I think Trump will do better than the polls predict, and I'll be voting for him in person Tuesday morning bright and early.

Kansas is deep red so we'll go to Trump I have no doubt, it's the swing states that will be interesting.

Either way, Trump has done a good job of bringing some of our nation's more insidious problems to the forefront and that's a good thing. He's helped along the Middle East peace process, and that's also a good thing. He's also done more for our economy than any other president of late.

If Biden wins, I don't see him finishing out 2021 before having to step down.
