    Sparkling Water

I've been sick lately and have lost a LOT of weight. I am down to 97 pounds and probably need as many calories as I can consume.

But, before I got sick, I started looking to consume less sugar. My biggest source of sugar is from soft drinks, commonly called pop or soda. Perianne says "soft drinks".

Sugars from soft drinks are not healthy. Maybe it was time to change to some other drink.

So, I bought some Perrier (flavored sparking water), thinking since the spelling was close to "Peri" it must be tasty. It tasted like transmission fluid and I threw it out. I hesitated to pour it down the drain since it tasted so bad I thought it might contaminate the water system.

I then tried various teas, but not being a tea drinker I was out of luck. I figured out it is the fizz that I like when I am thirsty, so that led me back to carbonated something.

Today, I bought some Topo Chico. I have now found my new water. Very good carbonated water. Really it is just water with the fizz and no flavoring, but it is good enough.

Anyone have any opinions about any sparking waters (aka club soda, soda water, seltzer water, fizzy water, etc.)?

Why drink anything like that? Try small amounts of cold tap water.

For calories eat whole fruits, but not too many. If you need more calories drink whole milk.

Sorry to hear you've been sick Perianne and best wishes for feeling better asap. I can't help you with sparkling water as I don't like it at all.

I like plain ordinary tap water, and lots of it, but I also like it very cold and keep it in the fridge.

    Hope you feel better soon.

I bought a SodaStream a long time ago and use that. It's just bubbly water but it seems to quench my thirst much better than plain water. Plus I refrigerator the bottle I am drinking.
I just add a little pure cranberry juice for flavor some times. Sometimes a little vodka to that as well.

My doctor put me on some new medications (I have some health issues related to my childhood). They were like poison to my system, but it took a while for me to figure out what was happening to me. I stopped the meds last week and yesterday was the first day I began to feel better. I am much better today and expect to continue to improve.

I do have issues with weight as I seem to lack that innate sense of being hungry. I eat because I have to.

Remember: all medications are poisons. We just try to use the inherent side effects to our medical advantage.

I had a similar experience earlier this year. It lasted 2 whole months and I swear I thought I was going to die and sometimes just wished I would.

Best of luck with it Peri.
