In an essay that I posted about Trump and the Republican Party which was entitled “How to Remain the Leader of the Republican Party”, I wrote this about Trump’s view of governing:
Think that governing is creating the GREATEST MESS in American history for our next president to clean-up.
As we ALL know, Trump worked diligently 24/7 to do EXACTLY that. And as we ALL know, his diligence paid-off. At a minimum, he created one of the greatest messes in American history for Biden to clean-up. And it is very possible that he created the GREATEST MESS in American history for Biden to clean-up. (Once again, I am reminded of the book entitled “Everything Trump Touches Dies”.)
Thus, in addition to handling the normal process of taking over our government from his predecessor, Biden will ALSO have to clean-up the ABNORMAL mess created by his predecessor.
The abnormal mess (aka, the Trump Mess) includes the following:
- Because he grossly mismanaged the virus in the BEGINNING, and he has CONTINUED to grossly mismanage it, the virus has gotten WAY AHEAD of us and it is NOT under control.
- Because he has grossly mismanaged the virus, our economy is suffering MORE and LONGER than it should be.
- Because he has grossly mismanaged the virus, MORE livelihoods and MORE lives are being lost than there had to be.
- He has convinced his fans that the virus is not very dangerous, which contradicts what the medical experts are saying.
- He has convinced his fans that the virus is under control, which contradicts what the medical experts are saying.
- He has convinced his fans that we are “rounding the corner” on the virus, which contradicts what the medical experts are saying.
- He has convinced his fans that our doctors and our healthcare workers, who are bravely and selflessly combating the virus, are bad people. For example: >He has accused our doctors of faking virus deaths in order to make a few bucks, when there is NO evidence of that. >He has accused our healthcare workers of stealing PPE, when there is NO evidence of that.
- He has been transforming our government into something that resembles his small family business, which had the sole purpose of making money for him at any cost, and over which he had absolute control.
- He gave himself, and his wealthy donors, major tax cuts which have increased our national debt.
- He has gutted a number of our government agencies. Thus, they cannot function as effectively as they should. For example: The State Department; thus, he has undermined our efforts to promote peace and stability in areas of vital interest to the USA.
- He has perverted the purpose of a number of our government agencies. Thus, they cannot function in the way that they should. For example: The CDC and the EPA; thus, he has put our health at risk.
- He has eliminated a number of regulations with no concern about the negative effects of that deregulation. For example: Regulations to protect our air and our water; thus, he has put our health at risk.
- In an effort to rig the 2020 election in his favor, he destroyed millions of dollars worth of Post Office equipment, in order to make the Post Office operate LESS efficiently. Thus, the Post Office will now serve the American people LESS efficiently.
- He has denigrated institutions that make America great and make America safe. As a result, he has convinced his fans that these institutions cannot be trusted. For example: >Our free press; he has called their reports “fake news”, and he has called them “enemies of the people”. >He has called our intelligence agencies “Nazis”.
- He has denigrated federal public servants, who are loyal to our Constitution, who do their jobs well, who are dedicated to serving the American people, and who make America great and make America safe. For example, he has called them the “deep state”. As a result, he has convinced his fans that these public servants cannot be trusted to serve the American people. He has replaced many of these public servants with people are loyal to HIM instead of the Constitution, who do NOT do their jobs well, and who can NOT be trusted to serve the American people.
- Because of the judges that he has nominated, our federal court system is now grossly lopsided. He has transformed it into a “new” system that is designed to oppose safety nets for the poor and the middle class, affordable healthcare for average Americans, the rights of various groups of people, voting rights, worker protections, consumer protections, environmental protections, efforts to combat climate change, and science.

Furthermore: The “new” system is designed to increase the wealth gap between the wealthy and the not-so-wealthy (in other words, to redistribute the wealth from the not-so-wealthy to the wealthy), to serve the needs of a selected few over the needs of the many, and to give more power to a selected few over the many.
- He is trying to repeal Obamacare, and he has no REAL plan to replace it with anything as good or better. Thus, he is trying to take affordable healthcare away from MILLIONS of Americans. This could lead to more bankruptcies and more deaths.
- His trade wars have caused economic harm to many Americans. For example: Many farmers have gone bankrupt; thousands of American jobs have been lost; and US companies have lost over a trillion dollars in the value of their stocks.
- He has divided Americans on Covid, on race and ethnicity, on the unnecessary deaths of blacks, and on anything else his “very good brain” can think of.
- He has convinced his fans that protests against the unnecessary deaths of blacks are incidents of “mob violence”, despite the fact that over 90% of these protests have been peaceful, and despite the fact that there have been cases of violence caused by pro-Trump anarchists who infiltrated the protests.
- After he separated thousands of families at the southern border, with no plan to re-unite them, he is now unable to re-unite many of those families.
- He has separated many American families, with a plan to keep them separated permanently, by deporting people who have been here for many years, back to their native countries which are now foreign to them.
- He has no respect for science. Thus, his decisions that SHOULD have been guided by science were NOT. Here are a few of the consequences: This has lead him to grossly mismanage the virus, to pervert the purpose of the CDC and the EPA, and to eliminate regulations to protect our air and our water.
- He has instilled disrespect for science in his fans, and that has caused some serious negative effects. For example: His fans are ignoring the advice of the medical experts regarding the virus; thus, they have put their lives at risk, and they have put the lives of MANY others at risk.
- He has ignored, and he has undermined, our government scientists, who provide critical science-based information for making important decisions, and for formulating important policies.
- He has undermined our relationships with our allies. For example: The Kurds and NATO; thus, he has put our national security at risk. As a result of his actions, our allies do not trust us, and they do not respect us.
- He has aided nations who are NOT our allies. For example: >He allowed the Russians and the Turks to become the dominant powers in Syria, when he abandoned our allies, the Kurds. >He has allowed China to become the dominate power in eastern Asia. As a result of his actions, nations who are not our allies laugh at us, and they do not respect us.
- He has terminated international agreements, which will have serious negative effects. For example: >He has cut funding to the World Health Organization; thus, he has put our health at risk. >He took us out of the Paris climate agreement; thus, he has put our future generations, and our planet, at risk.
- He has convinced his fans that he, and only he, tells the truth.
- He has instilled a lot of hatred in a lot of people.
- He has convinced his fans that people who oppose him are people who hate America.
- He has convinced his fans that people who dislike him are people who also dislike them.
- He has convinced his fans that the investigations into his efforts to rig the 2016 and 2020 elections were unwarranted, and that the purpose of those investigations were to subvert the will of the American people in the 2016 election.
- He is now trying to convince his fans that the 2020 election was rigged against him, by making BASELESS accusations about the process (e.g., voter fraud), when it was HE who tried to rig the election against Biden.
This list could be longer, but I’m going to stop now.
Biden certainly has the RIGHT experience to take over our government, UNLIKE the experience that Trump had when he took over. For example, prior to being elected as president:
- Biden has extensive experience in government; while Trump had extensive experience in running a small family business (which he ran into the ground six times), and extensive experience in Reality TV.
- Biden has extensive experience in negotiating with politicians in our government on both sides of the aisle; while Trump had extensive experience in negotiating real estate deals, and extensive experience saying “you’re fired”.
- Biden has extensive experience negotiating with international politicians; while Trump had extensive experience overseeing the Miss Universe Pageant.
Biden’s extensive experience in government, and his extensive experience in domestic and international negotiations, should be helpful to him in his efforts to clean-up the Trump Mess. So Biden, with the help of Harris and a bunch of other dedicated and talented people, SHOULD be able to successfully take over our government, AND to successfully clean-up the Trump Mess.
However, it is POSSIBLE that there will be a MAJOR obstacle to Biden’s success. As we ALL know, that possible obstacle is the GOP. IF the GOP decides to put the welfare of our nation OVER politics, then they will be the Grand Old Party, and they will help Biden succeed. But if the GOP decides otherwise, then they will be the Great Obstructionist Party (just like they were during the eight years of the Obama presidency), and they will be a MAJOR obstacle to Biden’s success.
With respect to the Trump Mess, I want to say this: Hey GOP! IT’S TIME TO CLEAN-UP THE MESS! We can NOT afford to wallow in the Trump Mess for another four years. We NEED to get our country back on the RIGHT track. And we NEED to do that ASAP.
For four years, you HELPED Trump create the mess. Now, you need to HELP Biden clean-up the mess.
