    I didn't realize how Racist Walmart is

    Making a Difference in Racial Equity

    Editor’s note: Walmart CEO Doug McMillon followed this note by speaking to associates via videoconference later this same day. You can read his remarks and watch a video replay here.

    Making a Difference in Racial Equity

    To: Walmart associates
    From: Doug McMillon, President and CEO – Walmart

    In our 50-plus years as a company, it rings true more each year that the world’s challenges are our challenges. The global health crisis has tested all of us in recent months, and the racial violence in the U.S. – in particular, the murder of George Floyd – is tragic, painful and unacceptable.

    Today, on what would have been our Associate and Shareholder Celebration, we’ll come together during our Friday Afternoon Meeting to talk about a number of things. But I didn’t want to wait until then to share with you some important decisions we’ve made about how we will move forward – together – in the fight for greater racial equity inside and outside Walmart.

    Inside the company, our work to recruit, develop and support African Americans and other people of color will be even more of a priority. We need each of you to actively partner to identify and work with your leaders to bring in great talent to the company. We want all of you to exercise your voice to make every part of our company even better.

    To influence and lead change in society more broadly, we are going to invest resources and develop strategies to increase fairness, equity and justice in aspects of everyday life. We will find the natural overlaps between Walmart’s core business and society’s larger needs that perpetuate racism and discrimination. Specifically, we’re going to focus the power of Walmart on our nation’s financial, healthcare, education and criminal justice systems.

    In addition to leveraging our business to drive these outcomes, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation are committing $100 million over five years through a new center on racial equity. The goal of the center will be to address systematic racism in society head-on and accelerate change. Through the $100 million commitment, the center will support philanthropic initiatives that align with the four key areas noted above. The center will seek to advance economic opportunity and healthier living, including issues surrounding the social determinants of health, strengthening workforce development and related educational systems, and support criminal justice reform with an emphasis on examining barriers to opportunity faced by those exiting the system.

    As an associate at Walmart, you are expected to truly, authentically and more deeply embrace inclusion. We must work together to actively shape the culture to be more inclusive and not just accept our differences but celebrate them – all the time – within every team.

    We’ve made a difference in the world in so many ways. We can make a meaningful, lasting difference in racial equity, too.

    ~~~
    Thank you WAlmart for taking care of helpless stupid black people. What would we do without you.
    I've never been in a Walmart and I"ll never step foot inside one either. The only thing that Walmart is good at is exploiting their workforce.
    Once I tell you that we agree to disagree there will be no more discussion between us in the thread so please don't waste your time continuing to argue your points because I will not respond.
    And they do exploit their workers as you can see from their little piece of propaganda. They think their black employees are ignorant.
    What i despise about them is their goal of destroying their competition.
    Wal-Mart=total destruction of local business communities. From auto parts to tire shops. From department stores to local, independent supermarkets. From local bakeries to local pharmacies.
    They Caved and it will be their eventual demise.
    Walmart has the single Market advantage of providing low cost goods to low income people. This is only possible through volume and keeping labor cost down. Entry Level workers who can learn some skills and take them to other employers if they show signs of promise.
    Once Walmart become just another AA "Social Justice" Union Shop all bets are off. The future will be Bad Customer Service at higher prices for Chinese Crap...
    And none of it will protect Walmart from looting when the next BLM outrage breaks out!
    Walmart used to be...USED to be...an ethical business.
    They provided jobs to persons that others would not - a Second-Chance employer. They paid market-scale wages. Proof of this, was their low turnover - rare for a retailer. Three times, at least, the question of unionization was brought forward - and they voted it DOWN.
    OUTSIDERS wanted unions in - and we can guess who those outsiders were, and what they wanted. HINT: Union Dues...
    But that all changed with the death of Sam Walton. AND with the 1990s UFCW attack...working in concert with DemocRats. Walmart was one of two major corporations WITHOUT lobbyists in Washington, Microsoft being the other.
    BOTH of them were nearly destroyed by the Democrat Self-Targeting Mud-Sling. And both got into politics in a big way. Did you know Felonia von Cankles was once a Director, in the Post-Sam Walmart? Yup...why mess around with bagmen. Go to the SOURCE.
    And now, they're as political as any union, as any alphabet Fake-Nooze source, as any aspiring Democrat activist.
    And it SHOWS. Right to the people on the floor, now openly surley...black-shirted Face-Diaper Police, arrows, stupid rope cordons, you can only enter HERE and leave HERE...these five registers are ONLY CREDIT-CARDS...money is dirty, money has Covid cooties...yada yada.
    I can't wait for the day, and it's coming, when Wally World joins the others in bankruptcy. Because Old Sam wouldn't recognize his own stores now.
