How about no politicians at all, but instead a commercial pitching your own personal politics from a fake celebrity of your choice -- say, Merill Streep, a familiar CGI that interviewd you to learn your personal wants, desires and fears, followed by CGI debates in "Congress" on your proposed legislation, and then later, fake news about how successful your proposal has been in bettering the world and man's position in it, especially in Biafra.

Not a single real person or object anywhere in any of this.

    That is a stupid comment.

The article is clear that automation will come much sooner with a $15 min wage than without it.

You have to ask yourself, who is making the minimum wage. The number making minimum wage = about a 6 month supply of employees in the market place (pre-COVID). They are suppose to be the job probation class that gets a raise if they can show up every day and not get fired before they are added to the permanent worker status. Even then it is at jobs that require only minimum training. The bag boy at the market type job. Eggs, bread go on top, not to much weight in a bag...

Then their are the "As long as they are a warm body" jobs. I know they won't last but I need someone. They don't show up, can't pass the drug tests, have attitude problems and move from job to job because they quit before they are fired or just wait to get fired. They stay at minimum wage because they are border line to being fired but the boss is tired of searching. They would apply at the factory but would never ass a screening test and employment check. They deserve minimum wage and probably not that.

People that show up and work are revered in the job market.

I think they upped their app ordering and paying endeavors because covid19 is interfering with kiosks that are touch-screen-based.

Indeed, actually McDonalds was relatively well positioned to serve the needs of COVID relatively well. Restaurants with pre-existing drive thrus have done relatively well. The kiosks are getting used less because people want to go inside less of course. As people travel less and want to go inside less, they think, "Well, rather than sit on the drive thru, I order by app and it'll be ready when I get there"

So, yes, the app is important for McD's. Of course travelling on the interstate the app is less practical. A passenger would have to use it and you'd have to know the McDonalds restaurant before hand. Of course you can still do the drive thru.

The higher the unemployment rate, the more dependent one becomes on government. Guess who is trying to create more unemployment and rubbing their grubby stealing paws

Saw a video once about a development in South Korea, employee sparse grocery stores. Instead of having the shelves stocked there are images that represent the items being sold. The consumer, upon entering the store, enters his/her credit card information, is then given a code. As they walk through the store they simply tap the items they wish and that is automatically sent to a "fulfillment" center either in store or at a local warehouse. The purchases are tabulated and boxed and when you are finished shopping you go to a collection center and retrieve your purchases, already bagged and priced. There would only be those employees in the store, either behind the scenes stocking the vending machines or perhaps answering questions. This would cut the number of employees in each store by half or more, no cashiers, no bag boys, no stock clerks in the store. Each store, on average, currently employs upwards the equivalent of 72 full time people, with an average income of $30,000 per year, cut that in half for each supermarket and you can easily see the savings available.

I',m sure it would be a bit more complicated than I describe but it certainly would be doable.
