There is nothing whatsoever illegal or even morally wrong in challenging the election results through legal channels. What Trump has done, however, is to loudly and consistently lie, using official channels and the resources of his office, about the "massive, widespread voter fraud" and that he would have won except for the "millions of illegal votes" allegedly cast. He not only knows that what he's saying is untrue, he's fully aware - as fully aware as he is of anything - that he is damaging America's institutions in the eyes of U.S. citizens and foreigners alike. He cares more about wanting to be seen as a victim (and not a loser) than he does about the state of the nation.

I just got through saying that Trump is not attempting a coup, per se, and he's (probably) not doing anything illegal. This time. What others say is not my problem.
