Teacher's request caused student to be suspended, reported to police

6th-grader in virtual class was asked to do something 'scary'

A North Carolina sixth-grade student was suspended from school and reported to police for displaying a toy gun during a virtual class in response to a Halloween assignment to "look scary."

Constitutional lawyers with the Rutherford Institute have come to the student's defense, dispatching a letter to Socrates Academy in Matthews, North Carolina, insisting that officials remove the suspension from the student's record.

When the teacher asked the class to do something "scary" for Halloween, the student picked up a broken toy gun and pointed it at his computer camera.

The teacher reported him to police.

Insane, but also part of a problem of not being educated and instead told to play act!

    Was this a drama class?

So, your idea of resolving the issue is to commit violence. Wonderful. Thank god most people don't think like you since this would most likely to cause more violence to occur which nobody needs.

Once I tell you that we agree to disagree there will be no more discussion between us in the thread so please don't waste your time continuing to argue your points because I will not respond.

You can't comprehend a RHETORICAL comment? Cause I know damn well that if this particular segment of conversation were reversed in another forum, that's EXACTLY what you'd say.

Some people do just need a good ass kicking from time to time. What this teacher did caused emotional trauma to the child and his parents. There was no reason for it. If that teacher was afraid of a toy gun displayed on a computer monitor, he or she needs to be taught there are certain things in this world you really should be afraid of.

Contrary to what the limp wristed Left likes to think, a whole lot more people think like I do than think like you do. Every major problem the world has ever had to face has been resolved with violence. That is the way it is and always will be. Go hide under your bed if you wish, but when the wolf comes banging on your door, you are going to wish to your god that men of violence show up to save your ass.
