Oregon’s Democratic governor is urging state residents to tattle on neighbors to police if they are seen or suspected of inviting too many guests into their homes in violation of COVID-19 mandates.


Gov. Kate Brown’s most recent round of coronavirus restrictions limits the number of people in private residences to six. The rule, issued Friday, applies to the entire state for two weeks, but it applies to Multnomah County, home to Portland, for four weeks.

Brown issued the rule just days ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

In an interview with KGW8, an NBC affiliate, Brown defended her recommendation that residents call police on social gathering violators as being akin to filing a noise complaint.


“This is no different than what happens if there’s a party down the street and it’s keeping everyone awake,” Brown said. “What do neighbors do [in that case]? They call law enforcement because it’s too noisy. This is just like that. It’s like a violation of a noise ordinance.”


She also said that she’s “following the science” and that it is “incumbent” on all residents to follow the rules.

Just how much loyalty do neighbor deserve if they are willing to jeopardize their lives and yours by ignoring common sense rules!

These innocent victims will in turn unknowingly take the virus back to their own families which is how this Pandemic continues to spread!

2) Will your neighbor's negligence result in occupying one or more precious ICU bed - meanwhile those beds could be denied to the responsible citizens who limited their Thanksgiving celebrations to 6 persons?

3) Will their callous indifference of your neighbors result in the infection of grocery clerks, bus drivers, librarians and other
frontline workers whose daily contact with the public places them and their families at risk - often for just minimum wage?

4) Will thoughtless neighbors infect their fellow workers - the classic example are meat-processing plants were COVID-19 can spread like "wildfire!"

5) Will your neighbor's lack of concern add to the already overburdened healthcare system - especially should there be another nationwide shortage of PPEs, whereby once again medical workers could be put a risk by using them day after day?



6) Suicides, depression, combat-fatigue, self-medicating etc - are your neighbors unaware that like those serving in the military, the nation already owes a debt of gratitude to the nation's medical workers who are often being pushed beyond physical and mental endurance month after month? Some staff has been brought out of retirement, but unlike ventilators, PPEs, hospital beds, etc., medical workers are a limited resource that can't be increased by some presidential edict invoking the Emergency Manufacturing Act!


7) Many healthcare workers dedicated to saving lives, have decided to spend weeks and months self--isolated from their families for fear of exposing them to COVID-19 - meanwhile their self-centered neighbors are not even willing to wear masks, social distance and/or limit their Thanksgiving crowd numbers to 6!

8) Despite the contributions of so many many unsung heroes and heroines, daily rates of testing positive for COVID-19 is rapidly approaching 200,000 daily, well over 1 million per week and almost 2,000 related deaths per day!
Its painfully obvious that with the current "leadership vacuum" at the federal level, the nation is fighting a losing battle - a recent Stanford study calculates that the 18 in-person, political rallies conducted by this President prior to October 2020, accounted for 30,000 new COVID-19 cases and 700 related deaths!


9) Given that the individual states, in this President's infinite wisdom, were tasked with the primary responsibility for confronting the Pandemic, their well-intentioned but fragmented, piecemeal approaches limited to their jurisdictions, have resulted in the general lack of consistent public messaging that has contributed to a general lack of public commitment to a uniform strategy!


10) Despite skyrocketing rates of new cases and related deaths, the timeline for herd immunity based on mass vaccinations may extend to mid-2021 at best - unless citizens like one's neighbor are willing to comply with even modest restrictions, the nation will pay for its lack of discipline with a series of major, rotating "lock-downs," whereby short-term gains for some will be replaced long-term pain for all!

To prove how entirely ridiculous your whole argument is, let's just take one aspect: Groups of 6 or smaller. Let's say you only invite 3 people, and ONE of them has covid.....then it's passed to the other 2, and they pass it on to 2 others, and then 4, 8, and it just goes on from there. According to your logic only ONE person could make that much difference. And THANK GOD people like you (yet) don't run a hospital, deciding who you think is morally correct as to whether they should get medical attention. I'm surprised that didn't say NO traveling, NO one besides who's in your own home.
