Her grandmother's ring. In 1961 it was $12,000. My partner asked me to hide it. He hated her boyfriend. He was and still is a lazy wastrel. My partner was certain the boyfriend would sell the heirloom and piss the money away. I was to keep the ring until I was certain she wouldn't sell it. No one even knew I had it. I held onto that ring for ten years. Daughter married the boyfriend who never worked a day. She had two children so hubby had enough to keep him busy at home. They were settled. I sent her the ring just a few months ago. I did not tell her anything but that I was to hold it until I felt she wouldn't be in a position where she would sell it. Nothing about the lazy boyfriend.

    There's a story for ya.

I would have "forgotten" to send it to her.

Doesn't sound to me like she deserved it.

Her boyfriend, or whatever he is by now, probably has still sold it and, pissed away the money.

    My sister-in-law is a.....well, she's a horrible person.

She was executor of her mother's will, it clearly laid out her mother's last wishes.....none of which were carried out.

That $#@! went into the house, went through the filing cabinet and burned papers, before her brothers got there, she took everything she thought would bring some money and, sold them, she cared not one iota about sentiment, she wanted nothing that would remind her of her mother. (Who always was nothing but good to her) she emptied the bank accounts, that were supposed to have been divided 3 ways, she insisted her mom had given her the Grand Cherokee, even though the will said otherwise.

She wanted the house and her brothers said, sure, buy us out, but she couldn't get a loan (she and her husband are deadbeats, with several repossessions and, foreclosures.)

Anyway, her brothers had to contact the judge, to get her to follow the will, POS sister-in-law got angry that they dared to force her to do the right thing (by that time, there was nothing left for her to latch onto and sell.)

Needless to say, I want nothing to do with her, I would not care if my brother-in-law told me she was dying or, dead, her entire life was spent dishonestly, using people and taking advantage of them, her parents included.

My mother-in-law had no idea her darling daughter was actually an evil $#@!.

So many people here have estates and vacation homes! I'm a community trust housing person and have been for my whole adult life.

Well anyway, as things stand, I don't think anyone will attend my funeral or want my stuff, which is mostly like old video games and books and pictures and clothes and punk rock mixtapes and my old Magic: The Gathering card collection. And my old diary from when I used to save my memories offline. Nothing that would be of real value to anyone else realistically. My mom passed away this year, my dad and I aren't on speaking terms, I haven't seen my stepsister in 15 years or my stepmom in 17, and I have no partner or kids of my own, no offline friends left to speak of (they've all moved)...it's depressing to think about just how much of a failure I am.

Anyone who wants my stuff when I'm gone can have it as far as I'm concerned: neighbors, looters, the government, people here on tPF, whoever. Don't care if I'm buried or cremated. Whatever happens to me or my stuff after I die doesn't matter. I don't care and nobody else does either. Just living day to day, trying to keep life in perspective. That's tough enough.

Anyone want my stuff when I die? You can have it! It's yours.

Are you sure that @Mister D wants you to say "estate"?

Okay, so on this one, just use his exact name "Mister D" not "Mr.D"

I assume you have a keyboard. This is a keyboard:

You can find the letters on the screen, then match them up with the keyboard letters.
