I don't know; I'd worry about them. With missiles and drones, they might be sitting ducks. It would be nice though.

So are they all decommissioned now?

They are all decommissioned.

First on a new platform with modern defensive weapons, to include lasers, I think they would be survivable. Second, because they are so large they can have some many airtight compartments that a missile hit couldn't sink it, unless it hit something to cause secondary explosions. But that is common to all ships.

I would imagine you get put one or two nuclear reactors on a modern battleship- that would give it the power to operate numerous lasers for defense against missiles, drones, and perhaps planes.

They do, but they also have fighters that take out launch sites and a lot more, very quickly.

I have always loved the WWII Battleships. The size. The power. Hurling a volkswagon sized shell 20 miles.

They are a thing of beauty......
