Chicago Mayor’s Security Team Gets Pass on Traffic Fines......

Chicago city officials dismissed most of the traffic tickets issued to members of Mayor Lori Lightfoot's (D.) security team, records uncovered by the Chicago Tribune show.


Chicago police ticketed Lightfoot's security detail 13 times for speeding and running red lights since she took office in May 2019. The city government waived 10 of those tickets.


While the team is legally permitted to run a red light or temporarily speed to keep the head and tail cars together, most of the tickets were issued while Lightfoot was attending to personal business.


Three of the dismissed tickets were issued because the security team was caught driving 11 miles per hour over the speed limit.


Chicago alderman Anthony Beale (D.) called out the mayor for the special treatment her team has received.....snip~
