LA County sheriff says his deputies will not enforce latest shutdown order.....

The sheriff of Los Angeles County, California, says his deputies will not enforce a newly enacted coronavirus lockdown order from Gov. Gavin Newsom.


The sheriff added that his department will focus on tamping down “superspreader events,” and he believes large gatherings such as local sports team celebrations, Thanksgiving, and protests are to blame for the spike rather than restaurants.


Sheriffs in San Bernandino, Orange, and Riverside counties appear to agree with Villanueva.


The sheriff of Sacramento County, where Newsom resides, announced last month that his office would not be enforcing a coronavirus-inspired curfew imposed by the governor.


Newsom’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Washington Examiner......snip~

You can't keep giving or they'll keep taking. In a ideal situation where our government was actually good, we could heed their advice knowing that this is temporary and that they have our best interests at heart. Unfortunately, government is generally made up of scumbags who are taking advantage of this chaos to grow their own power.

I would simply alter this a bit to say they're taking advantage of the chaos they created.

Austin Mayor Threatens Residents With Lockdown While Vacationing In Cabo

In November, Austin Mayor Steve Adler threatened residents with stricter lockdowns while vacationing in the resort town of Cabo San Lucas.
“We need to stay home if you can. This is not the time to relax. We are going to be looking really closely… We may have to close things down if we are not careful,” Adler warned residents in a Facebook video. The mayor of Los Angeles warned on Wednesday the city was nearing “a devastating tipping point” and ordered residents to stay in their homes and avoid social gatherings in new lockdown measures to rein in a surge in COVID-19 infections.


His order here limits nearly all social gatherings of people from more than a single household, mirroring a directive by county health officials last week, but exempts religious services and protests protected by the constitution.


People may “lawfully” leave homes to engage in exempted activities like healthcare operations, supermarkets and restaurants, the directive said......snip~

Basically this deviate stated that people would be arrested if they were out and about if they werent essential. Or going grocery shopping, going to medical facilities.





The new order also says travel whether by foot, bicycle, scooter, motorcycle, car or public transit is prohibited, again with multiple exceptions for specific activities.


Violating the order is a misdemeanor, subject to fines and imprisonment, the mayor says. He is asking the Los Angeles Police Department and City Attorney's Office to enforce it. The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power can also shut off utility service for violations......snip~
